    I love this.
    So much.
The podcast that came with the newsletter sign-up was so real, and breathed God to me. I paused and took notes and listened some more. I began writing out the verses you shared on that podcast as I listened to this one. Without a doubt I will be back. Your hearts are precious. And mine is encouraged.
    Thank you!

  2. Dear Erin and Karen,

Thank you so much. I appreciate your Deep support. Your “5 Ways to Safeguard Your Writer’s Heart” podcast ministered to my heart today, and resonated with me. I’m so close to finishing my first book proposal but have felt powerful oppression for the past few weeks that has practically paralyzed me and kept me from even opening my writing folder. The enemy has indeed been making me feel I have nothing to share. Ugh.

But…God is using three things to help me out from under the dull fog I’ve been trapped in: (1) My participation in two Bible studies- The Story and Revelation with BSF. (2) A group email encouraging believers to shake off intimidation and not let the enemy shut us down, and (3) your podcasts.

Thank you for the reminder to press into God (not the writing) and to seek Him first. I’ve been doing just that and resting in God quite a bit, but I’m still struggling to shake off the enemy. I’m 99% sure I’m on the right path with this writing thing so I’m wondering if the lesson for me here is perseverance and endurance while resting in God??? This is hard work.

Okay, I’m going to try posting scripture all around me and memorizing Jeremiah 29:11-13. I’d greatly appreciate your prayers for the oppression to leave, for clarity of mind so I can write, and for the joy of writing to return.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support!

Oh, Gabriela. I so understand about lies. I think we all do. I will be praying against your oppression, and for clarity for you in hearing God’s voice, not the enemies. Jesus says “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” I also love Isaiah 30:21, “Your ears will hear a word behind you, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right or to the left.” God does indeed know the plans He has for you, and He will make them known to you. You are a delight to Him, Gabriela, and He loves you dearly.

      • Dear Erin,

God is so, so good! Thank you for praying for my journey. The Isaiah 30:21 verse is perfect. Did you know that Isaiah 30:19-22 are THE verses God gave me when I surrendered my heart to Him sixteen years ago? He continues to guide my steps, even now as I trudge uphill through the unfamiliar (and sometimes perilous) territory of writing for His glory.

This morning, I felt the oppression lift as I was having breakfast with a new writing buddy. She’s a mighty warrior woman of God from my church. We spent time getting to know each other better, and will be meeting bi-weekly to encourage each other and hold each other accountable in our writing. Woo-hoo! Thank You, Lord! Please pray for both of us in this new adventure together.

Erin, God is using you and Karen mightily and I pray His protection over you both as you venture out to support us struggling writers. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for following God’s lead on this new venture in the deep. I pray He blesses your socks off through this. I appreciate you gals.

Well, no, I didn’t know about your history with Isaiah 30, but of course God did. : ) Will be praying for you and your accountability partner!

Gabriela, thank you for your words of affirmation. Praying with Erin that God cloaks you in His peace and presence.

  4. Linda says:

I got the chance to listen to this today, finally. Wow. You are both ministering to me so much. I am so deeply immersed in lies about my writing as to be almost paralyzed most days. I’m going to take a walk and listen to this again.
    God bless you.

    • Erin Taylor Young says:

Linda, We’re still praying for you–that you hear the voice of God, and that His light shines through the lies.
