Karen Ball
Karen Ball has always loved the power of words well crafted. She considers it a gift that she’s been able to use that love during over 30 years in publishing as an executive and acquisitions editor, building fiction lines for Tyndale, Multnomah, Zondervan, and B&H Publishing Group.
In addition, Karen is the owner of Karen Ball Publishing Services, LLC, a former literary agent with the prestigious Steve Laube Agency, and the co-creator of Write from the Deep with Erin Taylor Young.
A popular speaker and podcaster, Karen appears at writers conferences, womens’ retreats, and other events across the country. Her greatest love is to partner with authors and help them refine their craft and discover the power in their writing and voice. She’s had the honor of acquiring and working with some of the best writers in the industry, including Francine Rivers, Karen Kingsbury, Brandilyn Collins, Ginny Yttrup, Robin Jones Gunn, Terri Blackstock, and many others.
A published author herself, several of Karen’s novels have received awards, including the Reader’s Choice award and the ACFW award for the Best Inspirational Novel of the Year, and one of her novels was a finalist for the Christy Award for Excellence in Writing.
Karen lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and a their four-legged, furry “kids,” an incorrigible Corgi named Bungee Boo and a cuddly corgi/terrier named Razzle Dazzle.
Erin Taylor Young
Erin Taylor Young is a wordsmith at heart, an author and editor who savors pondering the perfect phrase or word.
She co-founded a successful independent publishing company where she was the co-managing editor before selling the company to another publisher. Her deepest passions are the Word of God and bringing His truth, whether in her own books or the books of other authors, to readers.
She teaches workshops about writing and publishing, produces podcasts, and is the co-creator of Write from the Deep with Karen Ball.
She’s also an accomplished humor author who has a remarkable gift for making her readers laugh out loud even as she’s delivering hard truths about living a life of faith. Her down-to-earth writing style invites readers into her books and sends them away refreshed and assured that we’re not in this gig alone.
Her book, Surviving Henry: Adventures in Loving a Canine Catastrophe, is the story of her noncompliant dog, who God uses to teach Erin about the realities of His love. Readers of Henry have repeatedly accused Erin of making them laugh until they cry.
Her second book, Still Surviving Henry: The Untold Stories, contains even more hilarious stories about the irrepressible Henry. Learn more about Erin at erintayloryoung.com where she blogs about writing, God, and her aversion to spiders.
